Rakshit Shetty is known for creating trends in Sandalwood. He was one of the earliest stars to introduce the concept of releasing trailers in Sandalwood. He has now gone ahead and announced that his next film “Avane Srimannarayana” will be released on December 28.
The trend of announcing releasing dates is a norm in Bollywood. There are two reasons for this. Firstly, the makers aim to complete the film by that time and secondly, to let other filmmakers know that they are releasing on this date. However, Sandalwood is far behind in these. The audience here come to know that a big star’s film is officially releasing only two weeks prior to the release. Sometimes, the release date is announced four days prior.
But, we can expect the trend to change with “Avane Srimannarayana”. The last week of December has always been lucky for Sandalwood. This period has given two industry hits in the form of “Mungaaru Male” and “Mr and Mrs Raajakumara”. It has also given blockbusters like “Kirik Party”. In 2017, “Chamak” was released during the same time and it was one of Ganesh’s biggest hits.
Rakshit’s biggest hit “Kirik Party” was also released during this time. He feels that this date is very good for his action entertainer “Avane Srimannarayana”, which is also his biggest project till date. Produced jointly by HK Prakash, Rakshit Shetty and Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah under the banners Shree Devi Entertainers, Paramvah Studios and Pushkar Films, “Avane Srimannarayana” is being made on a budget of Rs 30 crores. Charan Raj has been roped in to compose the music for the film with Karam Chawla signed up as the cinematographer, while director Sachin will edit the film himself. The film’s story is set in the 1980s in a fictional village.
