Due to its box office success, Darshan’s recently released Kannada film “Kaatera” has helped Sandalwood close 2023 on a positive note.
The film has officially made Rs 58.8 crore at the box office, according to Rockline Productions.
The production company reports that the film made Rs 19.79 crore on its first day of release. The company made Rs 17.35 crore on Saturday, a slight decline from the previous week. With a Sunday gross of Rs 20.94 crore, the film achieved its greatest results to date.
Following a great response in Karnataka, the makers are now planning to release the Darshan-starrer in foreign countries. Speaking to Cinema Express, producer Rockline Venkatesh said, “Kaatera will premiere in Dubai on January 6, with a grand launch event-an elaborate ‘Kaatera festival’ with the team in attendance.”
In addition, the film is slated for a worldwide theatrical release with a focus on nine countries: Germany, the UK, the USA, Canada, and Ireland. The release date will shortly be disclosed. The film will also have other language dubbing done by the producer. “Kantara is a recent example—a Kannada movie that saw enormous success after being released in several languages. Similarly, Kaatera breaks down language barriers with its universal themes that appeal to a wide range of audiences. It’s in high demand for dubbed versions in different languages across different states, highlighting real-life incidents centered around farmers,” Venkatesh continued.
Directed by Tharun Sudhir, the movie marks the acting debut of Aradhana, daughter of late producer Ramu and yesteryear actress Malashri. Jagapathi Babu, Shruthi, Kumar Govind, Vaijanath Biradar, and others are part of the cast.
