“Chakravarthy” released last Friday to an extraordinary response. The film is breaking all box office records. The fans of Darshan are very happy, that after a long time, their favourite star has been backed up by a good script. The makers of the film had dismissed that the film was based on any real life personality. But those who have watched the film vouch to the fact, that the film is based on several famous personalities of Bengaluru underworld.
Dinakar Thoogadeepa, who made his debut as villain with this film, has his character inspired by M P Jayaraj, who is considered the first ever don of Bangalore underworld. Dinakar is also seen supporting a politician in the film and also a newspaper, which targets police and government. All these incidents are similar to real life incidents of MP Jayaraj.
Darshan’s role is very similar to that of Muthappa Rai. He is seen as a common man fighting for justice and getting involved in the underworld. He kills Dinakar’s character. He is then forced to flee from India. He comes after many years and is proven innocent.
Even though the makers are claiming that this film is piece of fiction, so many similarities in a film cannot be considered coincidence. We must see how Ram Gopal Varma will react after watching this film. He is presently working on Muthappa Rai’s biopic, “Rai”, which will star Vivek Oberoi.
