Sandalwood superstar Shivarajkumar on Tuesday, took to Twitter to express his support for the farmers who have been protesting against three farm laws by the Union Government.
Shivarajkumar, or Shivanna as he is popularly known, is the latest celebrity to extend their support to the farmers’ cause.
In his tweet written in Kannada, the actor says, “Farmers are the backbone of the country. I will stand with them in times of crisis. I support their protest against new farm laws.”

Coincidentally, in “Bangara s/o Bangarada Manushya”, Shivanna is seen in the role of a progressive farmer who leads farmers’ demonstrations.
It can be recalled that scores of farmers from Haryana, Punjab and other states are protesting against the Union Government for enacting three new laws, which they claim will destroy the minimum support price system.
The agitating farmers called for a Bharat bandh on December 8, but there has been a lukewarm response for the same in most parts of the country.
