Mangaluru: Rain is a important source of life as it will provide the important element of life that is water. Many occupations are dependent on the rain water and many thus wait for the monsoon for the water. But in the rest of the year we can see that many of the problems have been caused in the rainy season.
Farmers who are the backbone of the nation are the people who eagerly expecting rains for their crops. While in the cities we see that the waters stored in the dam and in the other means will be the source. But the main source for all is the rain water.
In the present situation we can see that there is a good amount of rain but this has caused a major problem that of the flood. This is caused because of the problems due to improper harvest of the rainwater and the unscientific means and methods of the people in the construction of the dams and also illegal sand mafia.
As we heard in our childhood that the farmers were being happy while the first drops of water hit the ground, now we see that the farmers will be tensed with the heavy rain and floods that occur in the rivers. Even in the present year we see that there has been a heavy loss in the crops. In the cities there we see that no good drainage system have been created. Even if there is a proper drainage system we see that the disposal of garbage in the drainage are causing a heavy flood in the city limits.
It is now the responsibility of the leaders who have to take a good and serious steps in preventing this problems caused during the heavy rains.
