Hubballi: Karnataka defeated Delhi by 7 wickets in the semi-finals of the ongoing Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2024 on Thursday and will now face Odisha in the ultimate showdown here at Karnataka Gymkhana Cricket Ground.

Karnataka and Odisha will lock horns in the finals of the Women’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind 2024 on Friday on the occasion of National Youth Day, also known as Vivekananda Jayanti. Meanwhile, Odisha defeated Andhra Pradesh by 19 runs in the first semi-final on Thursday.

In the second semi-final, Karnataka won the toss and opted to bowl first. Delhi got off to a bad start and lost half of their side for 65 runs inside 10 overs. Manika and Deepmala Kumari then stitched a 67-run stand and took Delhi’s total to 132/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 133, Karnataka suffered early blows but Deepika TC smashed a fifty (63) while Laxmi P scored 29 off 25 balls to help the side get over the line. Karnataka won the match with 36 balls to spare. Deepika was named as the Player of the Match.

In the first semi-final, Odisha chose to bat first, amassing a formidable total of 183/3 in their allotted 20 overs, propelled by the stellar performances of Jhili Birua and Muni Purty.

The Andhra Pradesh side, despite their best efforts, fell short, managing 164/6 in 20 overs. Jhili Birua, with her brilliant 82 runs off 55 balls was awarded the Player of the Match.

With Karnataka and Odisha securing their places in the finals, all eyes are set on the ultimate showdown scheduled for National Youth Day. Cricket fans anticipate a thrilling clash as the two teams brimming with talent gear up for the match.
