Bengaluru: The Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) has announced a 17-member Indian squad for the second Men’s Blind Cricket Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in November 2026. Supported by CBRE under its CSR initiative ‘Ek Pehal’, the team will undergo a month-long preparatory coaching camp in Delhi NCR before departing for Dhaka. Training will focus on batting, bowling, fielding, fitness and match strategy.

The final squad was selected from 24 probables following an intensive 10-day coaching and selection camp. Players underwent specialised training, fitness and conditioning sessions, tactical preparation and practice matches, with selection based on performance, fitness, skills and overall readiness.

Dr Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar, Chairman, CABI, and Founder and Managing Trustee, Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, said: “Congratulations to the 17 players selected to represent India at the Men’s Blind Cricket Asia Cup 2026. Each has worked hard to earn a place in the national team. We look forward to seeing them build on India’s proud legacy as they prepare to defend the title. I wish the team every success.”

Anshuman Magazine, Chairman and CEO, India, South-East Asia, Middle East and North Africa, CBRE, said, “True inclusion is not about creating exceptions; it is about removing barriers so that talent is matched with the opportunity, infrastructure and recognition needed to excel. These athletes have earned their place on the international stage, and we are proud to support CABI and the team as they prepare to defend India’s Asia Cup title in Dhaka.”

Returning after a decade, the Asia Cup offers cricketers with visual impairment an international platform to showcase their skills. India won the inaugural tournament, hosted by CABI in Kochi, Kerala, in 2016, defeating Pakistan in the final.

CABI, the sports initiative of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, promotes blind cricket across India and supports its international development. Together, CABI and Samarthanam use sport to advance confidence, leadership, independence and equal opportunities for persons with visual impairment.
