Bengaluru: Bangladesh ‘A’ were leading by 59 runs in the second innings with seven wickets in hand at the end of Day 2 against Karnataka in the three-day match in Mysore. After bowling the hosts out for 287 in the first innings earlier in the day, the visitors were 188 for three when play ended for the day with Liton Das (37*) and Soumya Sarkar (24*) in the middle.

Earlier, Shishir Bhavane and Suchith J resumed the Karnataka innings on 163 for six with five-run lead on the second morning. Adding valuable runs to the total, the duo took the team to 227 before Suchith was sent back by Shuvagata Hom for 41. And in the next over Jubair Hossain sent back Bhavane without any addition to the score.

However, Udit Patel, who had replaced Suchith in the middle played a valuable knock in extending the team’s total with the lower-order. The lower-order bat made 40 before being the last one to return to the dressing room. With Karnataka’s lead on 129, the lower-order bat was sent back by Saqlain Sajib.

The visiting team put forth a better performance in their second innings after being bowled out for 158 in the first. Anamul Haque dropped anchor and scored 89 off 87 balls to help Bangladesh ‘A’ surpass Karnataka’s total. While he shaped the innings, Rony Talukdar chipped in with 15 before being sent back by Suchith while Mominul Haque contributed 22 before Patel had him trapped lbw. The bowler then also accounted for Anamul. Das and Sarkar then took the visiting team to stumps.
