Maintaining a healthy diet on a regular basis can be difficult for a lot of foodies. It takes a lot of perseverance to replace our favorite treats and decadent ingredients with healthier alternatives. It also takes some time to get used to the taste of the healthier dishes. Many of us struggle with cravings and are tempted to revert to our old habits when attempting to eat healthier. Comedian Gaurav Kapoor’s recent reel on the subject has drawn a lot of attention on the internet. Over 18 million people have watched the now-viral video on Instagram to date.

Gaurav is seen conversing with an off-camera character in the reel who is supposed to play a restaurant server. While the text on the video explains what has sparked Gaurav’s cravings, he clearly states what kinds of food and drinks he wants. Say, “after drinking coffee made with almond milk for two days,” he requests full-cream and full-fat coffee. Almond milk or any similar substitute would not work. He says he doesn’t want maple syrup or jaggery as a sweetener. He asks for “anti-food farmer, white processed sugar” instead.

“After eating millet noodles once,” he is seen ordering a veg Manchurian with noodles that are specifically made of maida (refined flour). He also asks for Ajinomoto to be added to the dish and provided on the side for “taste”. Furthermore, he insists that the Manchurian be red in colour. He clarifies that they don’t have to necessarily use edible colours, but “water colour would also do”.

“After eating quinoa beans bowl once”, he is seen ordering “white processed rice” with a layer of rajma on top. He says that the beans should be polished, not organic. “Nothing from farm to me. Farm to pesticide to factory and after tasty processing then to me”.

As part of his bit titled “Green Tea After Effects,” he asks for “brown colour chai” with milk and sugar.
