Indian YouTuber Ishan Sharma, currently visiting Los Angeles, shared an eye-opening photo on X (formerly Twitter) showcasing the difference in Uber services between the US and India. Sharma posted an image of a white Mercedes-Benz A-Class that arrived for his regular Uber booking, emphasizing the stark contrast with his experiences in India.
“Booked a regular Uber. A Mercedes pulls up! Only in Los Angeles,” Sharma tweeted, noting that the ride cost him $13 (Rs. 1091). The driver, who had a 4.91 rating, even accommodated Sharma’s request to play Punjabi music.
The post drew significant attention, with Indian users sharing their own experiences of luxury Uber rides in other countries like the UAE and Austria. Shweta Kukreja mentioned her daily encounters with luxury Ubers in Dubai, while Sumit Saurabh shared similar experiences in Austria.
In contrast, Indian YouTuber Aditya Gautam posted a photo of a Maruti Swift Dzire he received when booking an Uber Premium cab in Bengaluru, highlighting the disparity in service quality between the two locations.
Sharma, who recently visited the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, California, also commented on the high cost of Uber services in San Francisco, comparing it to the more affordable options in Bengaluru.
