In a dramatic response to the increasing number of reckless wheelie stunts by youngsters on busy roads, a group of angry motorists and residents from villages off Tumakuru highway took drastic measures. On Thursday, they threw two bikes off a flyover near Nelamangala on the city’s outskirts to teach the offenders a lesson.

The incident was captured on mobile phones and quickly went viral on social media, with many praising the community’s decisive action against the dangerous stunts. Wheelies have become a common nuisance on highways and city roads, fueling public frustration and calls for action.

The situation escalated when a stunt performer collided with another two-wheeler near Nelamangala, causing a minor accident. Enraged by the reckless behavior, other road users at the scene seized two of the offenders’ gearless bikes and hurled them from the flyover, dropping them about 30 feet onto the service road below. By the time the bikes were thrown, the youths had fled the area.

Following the viral video, Nelamangala traffic police registered a case on Saturday. A senior police officer noted that such wheelie stunts are a common issue, particularly on weekends and late nights. In response, patrolling has been increased to address these dangerous activities. The parents of one of the involved youths have already visited the police station, while authorities are still searching for the other individual. Witnesses reported that around eight youths on four bikes were performing stunts at the time of the incident.
