Udupi: Artist and educator Girish Achar Vakvadi has been unanimously chosen as the president of the upcoming 32nd Vakvadi Public Ganeshotsava, while Krishna Shettigar, head of Vakvadi Friends, has been appointed as the secretary.
The festival, held annually at the Vakvadi Mahalingeshwara Sannidan, has become a cherished local tradition, now entering its 32nd year. The site recently witnessed the grand Brahmakalashotsava, further adding spiritual significance to the upcoming celebration.
The Ganeshotsava Committee recently convened to finalize the leadership for this year’s event, during which Girish Achar, an accomplished artist and teacher, was selected to helm the festivities. Known for his commitment to art and community service, he has played active roles in various local cultural organizations.
The event is expected to feature traditional religious ceremonies along with a series of cultural programs, drawing participation from devotees and artists across the region.
