Udupi State BJP spokesperson Hariprakash Komemane has alleged that Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi is attempting to create political unrest in the country under the influence of foreign powers, by viewing constitutional institutions through a political lens.

Addressing reporters at the Udupi district BJP office, Komemane claimed that both Rahul Gandhi and AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge have shown disrespect towards the Army, soldiers, national flag, and national emblem. He criticised their decision to “flee” after making allegations against the Election Commission, insisting that they should present supporting documents and provide answers to the public’s questions.

Komemane accused Rahul Gandhi of maligning the Election Commission’s credibility, which he described as a pillar that safeguards democracy. Such actions, he said, not only undermine public trust but also damage the country’s reputation internationally.

“As the nation marks Independence Day, it is vital to resist any forces trying to weaken India’s self-respect,” Komemane emphasised, urging citizens to stand united against attempts to defame national institutions.
