Udupi: Jyothi Rajendra Suvarna (46), a devoted housekeeper and active participant in religious and social life at Billava Bhavan and Guru Narayana Mandir, Santacruz East, Mumbai, passed away early Wednesday at KMC Hospital, Manipal, following a brief illness.

For more than 25 years, Jyothi served with unwavering dedication at the Billava Bhavan. She was deeply involved in organizing and supporting religious, spiritual, and community events under the Billava Association Mumbai. Widely respected for her sincerity, creativity, and compassion, she was a cherished presence known for her humility, warmth, and tireless work ethic.

A native of Kamala Nivas, Yenagudde, Katapady in Udupi district, Jyothi had made Virar West, a Mumbai suburb, her home, where she lived with her family. She leaves behind two sons and several other family members.

Her final rites were performed today at her ancestral home in Yenagudde.

Several prominent figures and institutions expressed their sorrow at her passing. Among them were Rons Bantwal, President of Karnataka Journalists’ Association, Maharashtra; Harish G Avin, President of Billava Association Mumbai; L V Amin; former presidents Chandrashekhar S Poojary and Nityananda D Kotian; Bharat Bank executive president Suryakant Jay Suvarna, Lakshman C Poojary Chitrapur, N T Poojary of BCCI, Mohini V R Kotian, CA Ashwajit Hejmady, and Sanjeev Poojary Tonse. All paid their heartfelt tributes and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
