Udupi — Udupi City Centre Mall is set to mark the 79th Independence Day with a vibrant celebration titled Freedom Fiesta 2025, promising a day packed with patriotic spirit, cultural events, and community fun on August 15.

Mall manager Radhakrishna Prabhu, addressing the press, announced that the festivities will commence at 8:30 am with a formal flag hoisting ceremony. Distinguished guests expected at the occasion include Udupi municipal council member T G Hegde, Bharat Scouts and Guides chief commissioner Jayakar Shetty, businessman Kodi Ibrahim Mohammed, Ujwal Developers’ Purushotam Shetty, Hanif, managing director of D K Group of Companies Kundapura Nishchinth Damodar, and Jamia Masjid Udupi president Riyaz.

The afternoon will see a lively lineup of activities starting from 3 pm, including a drawing competition, kids’ fashion show, and an engaging quiz contest. Cultural performances, patriotic songs, and a variety of entertainment programmes will add to the celebratory mood.

The day’s events will conclude with the valedictory function and prize distribution at 8 pm, recognising winners of the competitions and contributors to the celebration.

The press briefing was also attended by Pradeep Mulya and Sayyad Anees, who expressed confidence that the Freedom Fiesta will attract a large turnout of families and community members, reinforcing the spirit of unity and patriotism.
