Udupi – In a heartwarming gesture, Yashoda Auto Union, Udupi, held a special event to distribute free notebooks to the children of auto-rickshaw drivers. The programme took place at the auditorium of Hotel Mathura Comfort in the city.

Honorary president of the union, K. Krishnamurthy Acharya, who spoke during the distribution ceremony, acknowledged the daily struggles faced by rickshaw drivers. He noted that despite the hard work these individuals do, society often overlooks their hardships and sacrifices.

“To offer some relief and support, especially towards the education of their children, our union has taken the initiative to provide free notebooks this year,” Acharya shared. He added that empowering the children of hardworking families through education is a step towards creating a better future.

The initiative was met with appreciation from the beneficiaries and their families. Many expressed gratitude for the much-needed support ahead of the new academic year.

Also present at the event were Union President Sadashiva Poojary, former presidents Harish Amin and Uday Pandubettu, General Secretary Praveen Kunjibettu, Treasurer Srinivas Kappettu, along with members Praveen Acharya and Nagaraj Kamath.
