Rajasthan: A disturbing video has emerged from the renowned Khatushyamji Temple in Rajasthan’s Sikar district, capturing a violent altercation between devotees and local vendors. The footage shows shopkeepers striking devotees with flagpoles, sparking widespread outrage.

The incident unfolded on Friday, when a sudden downpour forced several devotees to seek shelter inside nearby shops. However, shopkeepers reportedly ordered them to vacate the premises and find refuge elsewhere, which escalated into a heated confrontation.

As per initial reports, the situation took a violent turn when some devotees declined to leave. Enraged shopkeepers allegedly began hitting them with sticks and flag staffs, sparing no one — not even women devotees, who were also subjected to the assault.

The viral video, now circulating widely on social media, clearly shows vendors launching a brutal attack on the pilgrims, leading to shock and condemnation across the state.

Following the outcry, local police intervened, registering a case and arresting several individuals involved in the violence. Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken against those responsible for this shameful incident.

The clash has raised serious questions about devotee safety and the conduct of shopkeepers operating in religious spaces. Many are now calling for improved security and better management in and around such sacred sites to prevent future occurrences.
