New York: A 32-year-old woman working for Bank of America was killed in a random stabbing in New York’s Times Square on Monday afternoon, August 31, in an attack that also left a 68-year-old man injured.

The woman, identified by police as Erin Piacenti, was one of two people stabbed in the busy tourist and theatre district. Bank of America confirmed on Tuesday that Piacenti was one of its employees.

Police later identified the alleged attacker, who was killed after confronting officers shortly after the stabbing incident.

Bank employee among victims
