
Chicken 65 ranks third in best fried chicken dishes worldwide
Taste Atlas, the renowned food and travel guide, has updated its December 2024 rankings for the ‘Best Fried Chicken Dishes,’ showcasing a global variety of flavorful delicacies. Among the top 10, South India’s iconic Chicken 65 claimed an impressive third place.
Described by Taste Atlas as “deep-fried chicken marinated in ginger, lemon, red chiles, and a variety of spices,” Chicken 65 is celebrated for its bold flavors and intriguing origins. The most popular theory traces its creation to Tamil Nadu in the 1960s. This isn’t its first global recognition—last year, it ranked tenth on the same list.
The current rankings highlight Asian culinary excellence, with Korean Fried Chicken (Chikin) topping the chart, followed by Japan’s Karaage. Other notable entries include Chinese Zhaziji, Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, and Indonesian Ayam Goreng.
Chicken 65’s rise reflects its growing global popularity, further establishing India’s culinary influence on the world stage.
