Following accusations from some online users that the humanoid touched a female reporter improperly, a video of Saudi Arabia’s first male robot went viral. Others countered that the robot might have malfunctioned or been designed to move in a specific way.
An X user shared a video of Saudi Arabia unveiling its man-shaped AI robot, Mohammed, reacting to a reporter in what appears to be its first public debut. Others argue the video demonstrates the robot acting inappropriately.

A day ago, the post was shared. More than 8.4 lakh people have watched the video since then, and the count keeps rising. In addition, the post has received about 8,900 likes. As they responded to the video, people left a variety of remarks. Some people believed the robot misbehaved, while others claimed it was broken.
“Coded to be a creep!” wrote an X user.
“Because she mentioned his name and he wanted to shake her hand, but she stood where his hand passed. This is the fault of humans, not the robot,” argued another.
“Who trained AI for the exhibition?” questioned a third.
“I think it just malfunctioned,” wrote a fourth.
According to the Siasat Daily, the humanoid was unveiled during the second edition of DeepFast, which took place in Riyadh.
“I am Muhammad, the first Saudi robot in the form of a man. I was manufactured and developed here in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a national project to demonstrate our achievements in the field of artificial intelligence,” said the robot named Mohammad, reported the outlet.
News outlet Al Arabiya shared a video of their reporters’ interaction with Muhammad. They added that the robot’s voice is “taken from the voice of Al Arabiya broadcaster Nayef Al-Ahmari”.
