Popular YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, is now engaged! The 26-year-old proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Thea Booysen, on Christmas Day. Unlike his usual public persona filled with extravagant stunts and challenges, the proposal was a more intimate, private affair, and the couple plans for the wedding to follow the same low-key approach.
In an exclusive interview with People magazine, MrBeast revealed that he intentionally chose a quiet, personal moment for the proposal, saying he wanted it to be far from the usual spectacle. “My friends thought I would want to propose in a very public way, like some sort of spectacle at the Super Bowl… but I knew that I wanted it to be the opposite, to be really private and intimate.”
The couple is now planning an island wedding, a serene affair with only close family and friends. “We’re thinking of doing it somewhere on an island where we’re far away from just about everybody,” Thea shared. MrBeast echoed her sentiment, emphasizing that the wedding would focus on the people they care about the most.
MrBeast and Thea, both gamers and YouTubers, met in 2022 when MrBeast visited South Africa. They were introduced by a mutual friend, and since then, their relationship has blossomed into this exciting new chapter.
