Dulce Flores, a 33-year-old Spanish teacher at Riverbank High School in California, was arrested on Tuesday over allegations of inappropriate conduct involving a 17-year-old student. Authorities are investigating the matter while working to minimize disruptions for students. Flores is currently in custody at Stanislaus County Jail with bail set at $20,000.

The Riverbank Unified School District has placed Flores on leave while the inquiry continues. Superintendent Constantino Aguilar called the situation “truly unfortunate” for the district.

This marks the second case of alleged misconduct at Riverbank High in two years. In December 2023, former girls’ basketball coach Logan Nabors faced similar accusations involving a 16-year-old student between 2017 and 2018.

In a separate case in Texas, 35-year-old teacher Molly Colleen Spears from Barbers Hill School turned herself in nearly a year after an indictment related to alleged inappropriate communication with a student.
