A late-night fire broke out at the Banadeshwar Cotton Mill on Kanekal Road in Yadagir, causing damage to machinery and a significant quantity of stored cotton. The blaze, attributed to an electrical short circuit, was swiftly contained by mill workers, preventing further loss.

Fire contained quickly, preventing major loss

The mill, owned by Siddarama Reddy, reported damage to approximately 3 quintals of cotton. Workers on duty responded immediately, using available equipment to extinguish the flames before they could spread to adjoining sections of the mill.

Thanks to their prompt action, the fire was brought under control, and no major structural or financial loss was reported.

Police begin investigation

The Saidapur Police have opened an investigation to verify the cause of the electrical short circuit and assess any potential safety lapses. Officials stated that while the incident was minor, regular electrical inspections and fire-safety measures remain crucial in cotton-processing units due to their high flammability risk.
