Yadgir, Karnataka – A video recorded at Yadgir railway station has gone viral, showing a ticket counter clerk engaged in a casual phone conversation while ignoring a visibly frustrated queue of passengers. The incident, captured by a commuter and shared on social media by user @rajanna_rupesh, sparked widespread criticism of railway staff conduct.

In the footage, the clerk can be seen leisurely talking on his phone while over a dozen passengers waited in line. Despite repeated pleas from those in the queue, he continued his conversation. A commuter, visibly frustrated, confronted the clerk about the delay, only to receive a dismissive “just one minute” response. The commuter replied, “That one minute has become 15 now.”

The video quickly garnered attention on social media. “How did he even get this job?” one user questioned. Another wrote, “This behavior is common. They create delays deliberately when the train arrives and then exploit the panic to charge extra.” Others called the conduct unprofessional and disrespectful.

Amid rising backlash, the Guntakal railway division acted swiftly. In an official post on X, authorities confirmed the clerk had been suspended. “Inconvenience caused is deeply regretted. Staff has been suspended and major disciplinary proceedings have been initiated,” the statement read.

This incident has reignited public demands for stricter staff monitoring and accountability across railway stations.
