Hyderabad: Superstar Yash, known across India for his powerhouse performance in the KGF series, paid a spiritual visit to Ujjain’s Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple on Monday, just days ahead of commencing his shoot for the much-awaited Ramayana, helmed by director Nitesh Tiwari.
A devout follower of Lord Shiva, Yash took part in the sacred Bhasmarti ritual—an early morning offering considered deeply auspicious at the Jyotirlinga shrine. Dressed in a modest white shirt and flaunting his signature rugged look, Yash performed aarti and other rituals under the guidance of temple priests.
“I am very happy. I wanted Lord Shiva’s blessings. I prayed for the happiness and well-being of everyone,” Yash told reporters after the ceremony, visibly moved by the experience.
His visit marks a symbolic start to the journey of Ramayana, one of Indian cinema’s grandest mythological projects to date. Yash will not only play a pivotal role—reportedly as Ravana—but is also co-producing the film under his banner, Monster Mind Creations, alongside Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is being crafted as a visually spectacular retelling of the epic tale. The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and includes Sunny Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, and Lara Dutta in key roles. Part one is expected to release during Diwali 2026, with the second installment following in Diwali 2027.
Yash is expected to join the shoot by the end of April.
