CCB grills Rikki Rai, son of former don Muthappa Rai for six hours; Probe to continue

Bengaluru: Rikki Rai, son of Muttappa Rai, a former under world criminal underwent inquiry for over 6 hours on Wednesday by the CCB, which is probing the drug scandal in the state. He has been summoned even on Thursday.

According to the sources, the CCB police seized his smartphone and sent it to retrieve old messages, which have been deleted.

Police suspect that Rai helped a few accused in the drug case to hide during the initial days of investigation.

The CCB also cross-examined Rai on various issues including parties hosted by him for accused Aditya Alva, brother in-law of Bollyood actor Vivek Oberoi in an apartment in Sadashivanagar.

Police also have taken three pages of hand written notes from Rai.

The entire episode come as a big embarrassment to Muttappa Rai’s supporters who used to say that Rai family is not involved in any illegal activities.
