Mangaluru: The annual Aloysian Alumni Reunion 2026, held at the St Aloysius High School Grounds, turned into a grand celebration filled with music, laughter, nostalgia, and renewed bonds. The vibrant evening brought together former students across generations, making it a memorable occasion of reconnecting with classmates, teachers, and the institution that shaped their formative years.
The reunion assumed special significance as St Aloysius College, with its illustrious legacy of 147 years, moves steadily towards its 150-year jubilee in 2030. The gathering was not merely a social event but a heartfelt return to the alma mater that imparted values far beyond textbooks.
An evening of nostalgia and celebration
The sprawling campus resonated with joy as Aloysians who had long left the corridors of the college came together with their families. Old friends exchanged stories, reminisced about hostel life, shared laughter over youthful pranks, and resumed conversations as though time had stood still. The reunion vividly reflected the enduring bond between the alumni and their alma mater.
The event featured lively music, singing, dancing, and games, culminating in a sumptuous dinner that added to the festive spirit of the evening.
Warm welcome and presidential address
Mr Edmund Frank, Convener of the reunion, warmly welcomed the gathering, which included former students, their families, retired and serving faculty members, Jesuit priests, friends, benefactors, and sponsors. The total attendance crossed 500 participants, reflecting the strong alumni connect.
Mr Anil Kumar, President of the St Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA), addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of alumni engagement in sustaining the institution’s legacy.
Presiding over the programme, Rev. Fr Melwin Pinto, Rector of St Aloysius Institutions, spoke about the college’s future vision and expansion plans, underlining its continued commitment to holistic education and excellence.
Music, anchoring and appreciation
The programme was anchored with energy and finesse by Dr Reji John, drawing warm applause from the audience. The popular music band Alpha Rythms kept the crowd engaged and on their feet, adding vibrancy to the celebrations.
The evening concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr Conrad Nazareth, who expressed gratitude to the organisers, participants, and supporters for making the reunion a resounding success.
A bond that endures
The Aloysian Alumni Reunion 2026 stood as a testament to the enduring spirit of the Aloysian fraternity. It reinforced the deep emotional connect alumni share with their institution and reaffirmed the college’s role not just as a centre of learning, but as a lifelong community that continues to inspire generations.
