Disgraced actor Nana Patekar was seen on tape slapping a fan on the head. Patekar recently returned to the film industry after facing allegations of sexual misconduct during the Indian #MeToo movement. A fan approaches the actor for a selfie in a video that’s going viral online, only to get struck in the head and hauled off. It is said that Nana Patekar is filming in Varanasi.

The actor is seen in the brief video, which has been posted on X, Instagram, and Reddit, on set amid a throng of people. A T-shirt-wearing man comes up behind him, holding out a phone. When Nana Patekar sees him coming, she doesn’t hesitate to strike him in the head with noticeable force. As the man staggers forward, another man—possibly a security officer—grabs him. The second man pulls the fan out of frame and away from the actor by grabbing him by the neck.

On Reddit, someone commented on the video with the words “poor kid.” “That was too difficult,” another person commented. “That was incorrect, galat baat,” a third user commented on X. A few days prior, the actor had posted images to Instagram announcing the beginning of filming on Journey, filmmaker Anil Sharma’s sequel to the critically acclaimed Gadar 2. Utkarsh Sharma will also feature in Journey.

Nana Patekar was last seen in the film The Vaccine War, director Vivek Agnihotri’s follow-up to his smash hit The Kashmir Files. The film tanked at the box office. It marked the actor’s first theatrical release since 2018, when he appeared as a villain in the Rajinikanth-starrer Kaala. He then starred in a couple of streaming releases, one of which co-starred Taapsee Pannu. The actor’s career derailed after he was accused of sexual misconduct by Tanushree Dutta. An FIR was filed against him in 2018; but the investigation ended a year later after the Oshiwara police suggested that complaints against him could have been malicious in intent.
