Mangaluru: Father Muller College of Nursing (FMCON), a unit of the Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) has won many medals at the 20th Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) athletic meet held at Alva’s Education Foundation, Moodbidri from November 12 to 14. A total of 65 colleges affiliated to the RGUHS, Bengaluru participated in the event. The FMSON contingent had 18 participants for the athletic event. The event witnessed participation from the athletes vying for the top position.
Following are the participants who won from FMCON:
Ramya (IV BSc): 4*400mts relay-Silver; 800mts, 1500mts, 4*100 mts relay-three bronze
Lenisha (III BSc): 200mts, 4*100mts relay-two bronze; 4*400mts-silver
Venessa Fernandes (II BSc): Javelin Throw-bronze
Caroline R Pinto (III BSc): 4*400mts relay-silver; 4*400 relay-bronze
Gladys Helen Dsouza (II BSc): 4*100mts relay-bronze; 4*400mts relay- silver
Director FMCI, Rev. Fr Richard A. Coelho has lauded the winners and encouraged them to better themselves in the next meet. Sr Jacitha D’Souza, Principal FMSON, emphasized the importance given by the college to both academic, cultural and sports for the overall development of the individual. Nurses coming out from the college have a great sense of discipline and integrity making them the most sought after in healthcare.
