International Mens Day 2022 celebrated by YPCRC

Mangaluru: Gender Sensitization Cell (GSC) from Yenepoya Pharmacy College & Research Centre (YPCRC), Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore celebrated International Men’s Day on the theme “Helping Men and Boys” on Nov 26, 2022. Every year on Nov. 19, men around the world observe International Men’s Day to honour and celebrate their cultural, political, and socioeconomic accomplishments. All The Six Pillars of International Men’s Day outlines the goals of observing an international men’s day. It is a time to honour the lives, accomplishments, and efforts of boys and men, especially those who have made significant contributions to the nation, the union, society, the community, the family, the marriage, and raising children. The event’s overarching goal is to raise general awareness of issues facing males.

The program started with the invocation by Abdul Hafeel. Dr Sindhu Priya E S, HOD, Pharmacology Department, YPCRC welcomed the chief guest and the gathering. The significance of the day was unfolded by Sandhya V, Assistant professor, YPCRC. Dr Sarfraz J Hasim, Principal, of P A First Grade College and Managing director of Sadhana Mindcare was the chief guest of the day. He has given an exciting talk on the theme and illustrated how boys should be trained to make a man who has the potential to become the global medium to heal our world. He is a mind trainer, psychologist, success coach and motivational speaker. He inspired young minds and enlightened the gathering with his wisdom of words. Along with the guest talk, the cell also organized two competitions namely Ramp Walk with the theme “Male role model” and Collage making with the theme “Meeting the old mates”. Various games were organized for the staff and students of YPCRC. Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners-up. The vote of thanks was given by Rajika, a member of GSC, YPCRC. The program concluded with the National anthem.
