Key events mark MAHE observance of Mental Health Awareness Week

Mangaluru: In line with its continued commitment to supporting mental well-being, the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Department of Student Affairs has announced a series of engaging events in observance of World Mental Health Awareness Week 2023.

5KM Awareness Run for Mental Health: MAHE, in association with Kasturba Medical College (KMC) and FITVIB, is hosting a 5KM Awareness Run on 10 Oct. 2023 between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. This initiative underscores the potent benefits of physical activity in bolstering mental health. Participants can look forward to a rejuvenating experience, embracing the joy of movement and the ensuing release of endorphins, known to combat stress effectively.

Mental Health Workshop: On 11 Oct. 2023 MAHE, in collaboration with Dr A.V. Baliga Memorial Hospital, invites attendees to an illuminating workshop at the Dr T.M.A Pai Auditorium, KMC, Manipal. Scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the event will shed light on various facets of mental health. Topics discussed will range from stress management and mindfulness to strategies for achieving a harmonious work-life balance. An esteemed panel of mental health professionals will be on hand to share invaluable insights, practical strategies, and resources, empowering all attendees to prioritize and nurture their mental health.
