MAHE holds Nat’l Conference- ’22 for Anesthesia Technologists

Manipal: Manipal College of Health Professions, MAHE, Manipal organized the National Conference- 2022 on “Handling Perioperative Emergencies: An Integrated Series for Anesthesia Technologists”. This conference was designed to help Anesthesia technologists to handle perioperative emergencies and included resources relevant to step-by-step information on how to detect, manage, and treat complications and emergencies during the perioperative period.

More than 300 delegates from South India participated in the conference. It was inaugurated by Dr H.S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal and Dr Unnikrishnan B Dean, Kasturba Medical College Mangalore was the guest of honour. Other dignitaries present were Dr G Arun Maiya Dean, Manipal College of Health professions, Dr Nita Varghese, Head of the program and Anju T, organizing secretary of the conference.

Speaking about the conference Dr H.S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, MAHE, Manipal said “The role of allied health professionals in the healthcare system is very crucial. They play an important role in treating, rehabilitating and improving the lives of the patients. In emergency conditions, complications can arise anytime, and allied health professionals must be prepared for them. Through this conference, we aim to help Anesthesia technologists to handle emergencies and manage different complications that may arise”

Dr G Arun Maiya Dean, Manipal College of Health Professions said “We are glad to see such enthusiastic participation in the conference. Anaesthesia technologists and other allied health professionals are a crucial part of our healthcare system and play a key role in providing the necessary quality care to patients. The conference on Handling Perioperative Emergencies provided Anesthesia technologists with the necessary resources and information to improve their knowledge and skills. This enables students to work on higher acuity cases, test their skills in emergency situations and grow confident in the operating room.”
