Tech Print 7.0, A One-day National Level Technical Paper Presentation Competition organized by The Department of Computer Applications of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru,, was inaugurated on 4 th March 2019 at 9:30 AM in the Prerana Hall Auditorium,Academic Block-III of the college.
The event is organised under the banner of “TechnoCrats”, Students Association of the Department of MCA, is meant for the students of MCA, MTech, MS, MSc (Computer Science) and BE (CS & IS). Students of about 20 colleges from in and around Karnataka. The main objective is to expand academic knowledge and awareness of current IT affairs in students & budding professionals.
Tech Prints7.0: National Level Paper Presentation Competition was inguarted by Lighting of the lamps by the Dignitaries. Ms Sumangala N, Inchare, HOD –MCA welcomed the gathering and introduced the Chief Guest.
Mr Praveen Udupa, Founder & Technical Director of A1 Logics, Mangaluru by inaugurating the event in his address went on to ask the gatherings, “On one side, technology is developing very faste, on the other & we are as “end user” using it , Where are we really a heading towards to? The technology or the Apps/ Gadgets , Have we ever thought of How it is done or developed..? If not us who has to think…on it? Right from birth to death even we start our day with gadgets ends with gadgets but we never thought how it is developed & how we can improve on it, the answer is the big NO. We expect our academics to cover all this which practically not possible.
The education is just basic strong Foundation & provides a platform over in which the students have to build on by yourself. Here comes Technprint7.0 the academic pracs where it gives the student an option to research & learn further to build their career- -a small step towards going to that direction”. He also congratulated the organising Committee, Participants, and the students as well.
Guest of Honor Dr. Joseph Gonsalvis Professor Emeritus & Chief of Research & Development in his address mentioned now a days we hear the apps are developed by even kids they were not graduates, presenting paper is not easy task ,its not the one day business although the presenter has to have deep knowledge & research oriented.
Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Director in charge of SJEC presided over the programme and in his
Presidential address, he said, “bring on the new ideas so that you keep thinking .. its not just class form. This platform provides an opportunity to student think on out of box. Technology helps a humanity to face the critical problems in areas like Health, Agriculture,education”.
