Mangaluru: Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Central Council, Mangalore Diocese hosted “PSTA – 2019 ” a training programme for the presidents, secretaries, treasurers and Amcho Yuvak representatives of all units and Deaneries of ICYM Mangalore Diocese on Sunday, June 30, from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Centenary Memorial Hall, Jeppu, Mangaluru.
Rev. Fr. Antony George Pinto – Dean, St. Joseph Seminary, Jeppu was the chief guest for the programme. Roshan Castelino – HR Manager, MRPL, was the keynote speaker.
The dignitaries inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.
Fr Antony Pinto addressed the gathering on the importance of youth leaders in the community and their qualities. He briefed out about his life experience and his association with the youth. He also spoke about Laudato – Si Sunday and its importance.
On the occasion, Fr Antony Pinto was honoured with a memento as a token of gratitude.
Jaison Crasta, Mogarnad – Diocesan Nominated Member, ICYM Mangalore Diocese introduced Roshan Castelino to the gathering. In his keynote address, Roshan Castelino spoke about history of the ICYM, tips on leadership and how the ICYM is a systematic and effective organisation when compared to other organisations in the church.
During the occasion, Rohan Pereira, Vamanjoor – Entrepreneur, Ro International, addressed the gathering about the one to one programme introduced for the job seeking youth and the methodology to approach experts in various fields.
At 12.30 PM, the Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza and concelebrated by Rev. Fr Ashwin Lohith Cardoza.
In the post lunch session, Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza briefed about the duties and responsibilities of president, secretary, treasurer, Amcho Yuvak representatives and other posts of the committee.
Preema Pinto, Kirem – Lady Vice President, ICYM Mangalore Diocese introduced P. R GopalKrishna – Quality and technical manager at A J Hospital and Research Centre, Mangaluru – second key note speaker of the programme, who spoke about voluntarily blood donation, how to approach hospital blood banks during emergency requirements, method of blood transfusion.
Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash Dsouza briefed about the important announcements pertaining to 72nd Annual General Body Meeting and its elections. Meanwhile, the names of the recepients of the ICYM Mangalore Awards – 2019 and the names of the best top 10 units of the diocese were announced. The programme was concluded with the ICYM Anthem.
Jaison Leroy Pereira welcomed the guests and gathering. Meanwhile, Rev. Fr Ronald Prakash D’souza florally welcomed Rev. Fr Antony George Pinto with a bouquet. Fevisha Monteiro delivered the vote of thanks. Cleeta Dsouza, Surthakal – MIJARC representative conducted the ice-breaker session.
