Mangaluru: The two-day Annual Conference of Rotary International Dist 3181 “ABHAYA” was held virtually on 19th and 20th of June at A-1 Logics Conference Hall Mangalore. Rotary International Director Rtn. Bharath Pandya inaugurated conference which included keynote address on various aspects, subjects of Rotary, avenues of service by experts and resource persons. Dharmastala Keshetra Dharmadhikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade, well known kannada Film Producer and Director Nagatihalli Chandrashekar, Industrialist Ullas Kamath delivered Guest lectures in general topics of interest followed by enterianment.
During the session city based eminent Consultant Physician Past Rotary Dist Governor, Dist Counsellor Rtn. Dr. Devdas Rai was felicitated and conferred the Rotary International highest Award “Service Above Self” in recognation of his sterling accomplishments in the Rotary Movement and inspiring services rendered at the club, Dist and International Level. Further his commendable contribution to the growth and development of Rotary organization in the District spannning over three decades. Rotary past Dist Governor, Dist Advisor Rtn Krishna Shetty presented the award and congratulated him.
Rotary Dist 3181 Governor Rtn Ranganath Bhat applauded Dr. Rai’s excellent Leadership qualities and complimented Dr.Rai on his exemplary achivements and stated that he is an dedicated Rotarian well known for his creative role and constructive work for the development of the organization, befittingly he deserves the award.
Reacting to the feliciations Dr. Rai Stated that he is delighted, honored to accept this award which has motivated him to perform better and fullfil the aims and objectives of the Rotary. The award is the result of collective efforts of his fellow Rotarians of Rotary Club of Mangalore Central. He expressed his gratitude to the Rotary International organization for selecting him for this prestigious award and assured to serve Life long for the cause of Rotary Movement.
