
Bengaluru Sees Surge in Dengue Cases, Surpassing 10,000

Bengaluru: The number of dengue cases within BBMP limits has surpassed 10,000, reaching a total of 10,039 cases as of Friday, according to the state health department’s dengue bulletin. This contributes to the state’s overall count of 22,126 positive cases.
Key Figures:
- Hospitalizations: 249 patients are currently hospitalized.
- Testing: More than 1.55 lakh individuals have been tested for dengue, with over 62% of the positive cases (13,832) being adults aged 18 years and above.
- Distribution: Besides Bengaluru, other districts reporting significant numbers of cases include Hassan (798), Mandya (769), and Mysuru (748).
Municipal Efforts:
- Action Taken: In response to the outbreak, municipal workers are actively fumigating parks and public spaces to combat mosquito proliferation.
