Kalaburagi: In a significant step towards a TB-free India, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Manur of Manur Hospital has committed to supporting 250 tuberculosis patients by providing essential nutrition. This initiative aligns with the TB-Mukt India campaign, aiming to enhance patient recovery.

Manur Multispecialty Hospital has launched a six-month program to distribute specially formulated nutritional supplements to the adopted TB patients. The initiative was inaugurated with a tree-planting ceremony on the hospital premises, symbolizing growth and well-being.

Last year, the district extended nutritional aid to 500 TB patients, and this year, the hospital has taken up the responsibility for 250 individuals. Dr. Manur emphasized that tuberculosis is entirely curable when patients adhere to the prescribed six-month medication regimen.

He elaborated on the hospital’s commitment to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a TB-free India by 2025. The nutritional supplement, made from a blend of grains, is designed to improve patients’ health and boost recovery.

District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Sharanbasappa Kathanal stressed the importance of early detection. A persistent cough lasting over two to three weeks, blood in sputum, fever, fatigue, night sweats, weight loss, and digestive issues warrant immediate medical attention. He lauded Manur Hospital’s continued dedication to combating tuberculosis and improving community health.
