Pinangod: A massive 65-kg jackfruit grown at a private farm in Thaneri, Wayanad, has become the latest sensation in the region. The giant fruit was harvested by Faisal, a local farmer whose farm is home to a 200-year-old jackfruit tree known for producing extraordinary yields.

According to Faisal, this is the heaviest jackfruit he has ever grown. “This tree has given me prize-winning fruits before, but this one is truly special,” he said. Previous jackfruits from the same tree had won awards at both district and state-level jackfruit festivals, with weights of 50 kg, 52 kg, and a state-level winner at 55 kg.

Faisal’s latest 65-kg wonder has once again highlighted the potential of traditional fruit-bearing trees and the importance of conserving such natural heritage. Locals and visitors alike are flocking to see the jumbo jackfruit, now hailed as the largest ever from his farm.
