Varanasi: An IndiGo flight traveling from Kolkata to Srinagar was forced to make an emergency landing at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Wednesday due to a suspected fuel leak. The Airbus A320neo, registered VT-ITR, touched down safely at around 4:10 PM local time.

Flight 6E-6961 was carrying 166 passengers and crew members. All onboard were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Airport operations resumed swiftly as authorities conducted a thorough inspection of the aircraft.

The airline confirmed that necessary safety protocols were followed and that investigations into the cause of the suspected fuel leak are ongoing. IndiGo has assured passengers that the aircraft will resume its journey to Srinagar after completing all required repairs and safety checks.
