New Delhi: Snow in Kashmir is like a gift from God, a living piece of art that turns the Valley into a haven of winter bliss. After a long, harsh, dry winter, the new snowfall brought Kashmir alive once more by covering the surroundings in a white blanket.
A man traveling on a horse-drawn cart—a traditional means of transportation in the area known as “Tonga”—along a snowy track in a village in south Kashmir was shown in a video enjoying one such picturesque scene.
The video was first uploaded by Mohsin Khan on YouTube and X, the former name of Twitter. He claimed to have taken the video while traveling from his hometown of Rampora to Anantnag town, popularly known as Islamabad.

The 48-second video, now viral on social media, has garnered attention of many with people saying the landscape – snowy road, orchard trees glistening with snow along the way covered – is giving the feel of a Hollywood movie scene.
The horse-drawn cart ride is the highlight of the video, even though the scenery is recognizable from any Kashmiri village in the winter. It conveys a sense of tranquility and beauty with its lovely scenery and the sound of hooves pounding on the pavement.
The video, which features a magical winter scene with shimmering snow blankets, burdened trees, and ice outside, was compared by many X users to The Chronicles of Narnia. “Scene from The Chronicles of Narnia”
Some people commented that Kashmir’s scenery surpassed any Hollywood-produced scenery in beauty. “A Tonga ride this snowfall ..Kashmir looks better than Hollywood create scenic effects,” a user posted to X.
