The intense encounter unfolded in Gadiya Bhadar Metwala village, near the Bhadar forest area, as Kalal found himself confronting the deadly predator while covering the events of the day.
Leopard Attack
The leopard, attracted by a nilgai near a pond behind a local residence, drew the attention of villagers. As they sought assistance from the forest department, journalist Gunwant Kalal arrived on the scene to report the unfolding situation.
Amid villagers’ attempts to scare off the leopard with stones, the agitated creature turned its aggression towards Kalal, biting into his leg. Despite the attack, Kalal bravely defended himself, using his other leg to fend off the predator. He managed to seize the leopard by its neck and jaw, overpowering it with sheer determination.
Villagers Rally Together
The entire incident, captured on video and shared on social media, has garnered attention for Kalal’s bravery. Touched by his courage, the villagers united to aid in subduing the leopard, securing it with a rope until the forest department team arrived to intervene.
