Panachamoodu native Arun Krishna (42) died while undergoing treatment at a private medical college hospital in Thiruvananthapuram on Monday, after he collapsed moments after receiving an injection to reduce fever.

Arun, an expatriate who had returned home just four days earlier on a short leave to care for his unwell son, visited a hospital in Panachamoodu on Saturday evening with high fever. He had ridden there on his bike. Following the doctor’s instructions, he was administered an injection—immediately after which he collapsed on the hospital floor.

He was quickly shifted to a private medical college hospital in an ambulance. His wife Asha, who works at the same hospital where the incident occurred, and other family members were informed. Despite efforts, Arun died during treatment.

His relatives have filed a complaint alleging medical negligence, prompting the Vellarada police to register a case. Since the hospital is located in Tamil Nadu, the Arumana police have also been alerted. Authorities say the exact cause of death will be confirmed after internal organ reports are received.

Arun leaves behind his wife Asha and two sons, Ashwin Krishna and Akash Krishna. The cremation will take place at 11 am today in the family’s home compound.
