Hyderabad: Addressing an election rally in Hyderabad, Asaduddin Owaisi, President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that he was spreading hatred between the Hindu and Muslim communities.
Narendra Modi had accused the Congress of coining the term ‘Hindu Terror’ for vote bank politics and hurting the sentiments of crores of Hindus, during a rally in Wardha, Maharashtra. Modi had accused the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) alliance of insulting the sentiments of Hindus, Army jawans by demanding proof of IAF airstrikes in Pakistan’s Balakot.
During the Hyderabad rally, Asaduddin Owaisi challenged the PM for a debate. He asked Modi whether Nathuram Godse was a terrorist or not.
Owaisi asked “Mr. Modi, wasn’t Nathuram Godse, who killed Mahatma Gandhi, a terrorist? Who was Godse? You won’t say anything because you are weakening India by talking about Hindus and Muslims.”
Modi had said that in the 5000-year-old culture of the nation, it was for the first time that the Congress-NCP alliance had called the peace loving Hindus ‘terrorists.’ “The Congress and NCP have defamed the Hindus before the world,” Modi had added.
