Mumbai: Scores of young men taking to arms and joining dreaded terror outfit ISIS has always left behind a question as to what exactly makes these youth take this extreme step.

Well, the interrogation of four Maharashtra youth who were arrested in July-August has revealed details which will surely leave eyebrows raised.

The Anti Terror Squad has documented the reasons why these four youth joined the IS and it is said that promise of ‘sex slaves’ upon arrival in Iraq and ‘virgins’ after martyrdom was the driving force.

Between July and August this year, the Maharashtra ATS busted a Parbhani-based IS module and arrested four youths from Prabhani and Hingoli — Mohd Raisuddin Mohd Siddique, Iqbal Ahmed Kabir Ahmed, Nasir Chaus and Shaheed Khan alleging that the module was planning attack on the Aurangabad ATS unit.

As per sources, Nasir Chaus, youth from Prabhani in Maharashtra told the investigating officers that he had got in touch with IS handler Farooque alias Shafi Armar over social networking site and the handler promised him of sex slave in Iraq and ‘virgins’ after martyrdom. After joining the IS, Chaus then formed a module comprising three more locals who were assigned the task of eliminating a former SP of the Maharashtra ATS. This and other details allegedly revealed by Chaus will be part of the chargesheet the Maharashtra ATS will file in the Parbhani case within a fortnight, reports Indian Express.

Chaus was also crowned ‘Amir’ (Chief) of Parbhani by Farooque. Though Chaus was keen was travelling to Iraq, Farooque told him to manage the India operations, specifically carry out attack in India.

“Farooque alias Shafi Armar is an erstwhile member of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) who defected along with his brother Sultan to form Ansar ul Tawhid (AuT) that has pledged its allegiance to the IS.

Sources said the ATS is keen to file the chargesheet in the case expeditiously because the case was abruptly transferred to the NIA, a development that has left the state counter-terrorism agency unhappy.
