In a heartbreaking incident from Dindoli, Surat, a 41-year-old school teacher allegedly poisoned his two children—aged 7 and 2—before dying by suicide. The man, identified as Alpeshbhai Kantibhai Solanki, reportedly took the drastic step due to suspicions of his wife’s extramarital affair.

Alpeshbhai’s wife, Phalguni, a clerk with the Zila Panchayat, arrived home after failing to reach him on the phone. With the help of relatives, she forced open the locked door, only to discover her children dead on the bed and her husband unresponsive nearby.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh Gurjar confirmed the discovery of a 6-page suicide note, two diaries, and videos on the deceased’s mobile phone. The suicide note, addressed to his parents and wife, reveals prolonged emotional distress due to the alleged affair.

Alpeshbhai’s brother filed a police complaint, accusing Phalguni and her alleged lover, Naresh Kumar Rathod, of driving him to suicide. The couple had reportedly been having frequent arguments over the issue for several months.

The police have arrested both Phalguni and Naresh, while forensic experts continue examining the evidence, including the detailed diary entries documenting Alpeshbhai’s mental turmoil over the past 1–2 months.

This incident has shaken the local community and raised alarms about the importance of mental health support in domestic conflict cases.
