Udhampur blast: Three young brother killed

Udhampur(J&K): Three young brothers were killed in an explosion near Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

As per sources the blast took place near Birma bridge and three kids aged between seven to 15 were killed in the blast.

The three brothers have been Vikar (15), Deepu (10) and Meheshu (7), sons of labourer Bola Ram of Ramban district presently living in Barmi area.

Even as investigations are on into the nature of the blast and reasons for the children being at the accident site, the preliminary reports suggest that the children were carrying scrap when the explosion took place,

There was a shell in the scrap which exploded resulting in the death of three children, he said.

The bodies have been shifted to hospital and would be handed over to their family members for last rites after legal and medical formalities.

A case in this regard has been registered, they said.
