Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): The Ram Janaki Temple in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, found itself at the center of concern after receiving a bomb threat on Sunday, just six days following the significant Pran Prathishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.
The ancient temple was adorned with several posters explicitly mentioning bomb threats, strewn across its walls and floors, sparking immediate alarm.
Among those targeted was Rohit Sahu, a notable BJP leader and trustee of the Ram Janaki Temple, who received a threatening letter. The incident occurred notably amidst a bhava programme held at the temple coinciding with the Pran Pratistha ceremony in Ayodhya.
Rahul Sahu, Rohit Sahu’s brother, expressed his distress upon discovering the threat letters within the temple premises. Taking precautionary measures, he promptly closed the doors and erected police barricades to prevent any potential escalation of the situation.
Upon receiving the report, law enforcement swiftly responded, arriving at the scene to assess the situation. “We have located threatening posters within the temple grounds and are in the process of identifying those responsible. Legal action will be pursued against the perpetrators, as the letter contains objectionable content,” affirmed the police officials.
