Uttarakhand : Love often takes us to beautiful places where special moments are captured for pre-wedding portraits. But for one couple from Delhi, their search for the ideal photo beside the placid Ganga river in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, turned into a terrifying experience. This cautionary story highlights the need for safety in the face of nature’s unpredictability by shedding light on the risks that can be hidden behind picturesque photo shoots.

Soon-to-be husband and wife from Delhi, Manas Kheda and Anjali Aneja, traveled to Byasi with the intention of photographing their love against the backdrop of the sacred Ganga. A pre-wedding photo shoot that was supposed to be fun and full of shared moments turned suddenly into a potentially fatal situation.

The serene Ganga quickly changed into a raging force as the couple immersed themselves in its beauty. Manas and Anjali were trapped when the water levels suddenly rose sharply. Manas, in his desperation to get away, slipped, putting them both in danger of drowning.

The couple’s distress was quickly noticed by vigilant locals, who took swift action. They realized there was a danger, so they called the Byasi police checkpoint and raised the alarm to stop a possible disaster in the holy river.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) showed up quickly in response to the distress call, prepared to brave the choppy waters in rafts. The couple’s safety was ensured when the SDRF team successfully navigated through the difficulties and arrived in time. Before Manas was taken to a hospital for additional care, he was given vital first aid promptly.

This amazing event serves as a warning about the unanticipated risks associated with audacious photo shoots close to natural bodies of water. Safety must always come first, even though it is natural to want to record special moments. A seemingly idyllic photo shoot serves as a reminder of the need for caution and preparation, as demonstrated by the couple’s narrow escape. Nature is something that should be respected and given careful thought.
