Yogendra Yadav Joins Prashant Kishor Predicts BJP Win

Yogendra Yadav

New Delhi: Renowned political analyst Yogendra Yadav has joined the ranks of Prashant Kishor and US poll expert Ian Bremmer in forecasting the outcome of the upcoming general elections, predicting another victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to Yadav, the BJP is likely to secure between 240 and 260 seats, with its allies expected to garner 35 to 45 seats, resulting in a total of 275 to 305 seats for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Backing Yadav’s projections, Kishor highlighted the significance of Yadav’s insights, affirming that the BJP/NDA alliance is likely to secure the required number of seats to form the government.

In Yadav’s estimation, the Congress party is anticipated to secure between 85 and 100 seats, marking a modest improvement from its previous performance. However, the opposition INDIA bloc, aiming to challenge the BJP’s dominance, is expected to be reduced to between 120 and 135 seats.

Kishor, in a recent interview, noted that while there may be pockets of dissatisfaction, widespread anger against the ruling BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not evident. However, he suggested that the BJP might fall short of its ambitious goal of securing 370 seats.

Meanwhile, Ian Bremmer offered a slightly different perspective, predicting that the BJP could win between 295 and 315 seats. Achieving the target of 370 seats would necessitate substantial victories for the BJP in states traditionally less favorable to the party, such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, and Telangana.

The BJP’s landslide victory in the 2019 general elections propelled by the ‘Modi wave’ in Hindi heartland states set a high benchmark. However, the upcoming elections will reveal whether the party can maintain its momentum and extend its dominance across diverse regions of the country.
