Bagalkote: Seven Held for Poaching of Blackbuck

Bagalkote: Seven accused were taken into custody by sub-zonal forest officers in Jamkhandi, Bagalkote district for hunting blackbuck and transporting the animal in a car. The individuals arrested include Subhasha Siddappa Pidai (23) of Kadakabavi village, Suresh Ningappa Pakande (21) of Byakod village, Chetana Hamanmantha Bidari (24), Ningappa Lakshmana Padatare (24) of Kankanwadi village, Prajwala Balappa Melavanki (18) of Devapparatti village in Rabkavi-Banahatti taluk, as well as Shabbir Abdulsaab Guddadamani (25) and Ramajanasab Imamsaab Alas (25) from Halingali village.

The forest officials recovered 13.5 kg meat and skin of a blackbuck, four mobile phones, a car used for transportation, and four hunting dogs during the operation. It was also reported that two individuals managed to escape; Lalasab Sardarasaab Guddadamani from Halingali village and Ramazansaab Ismailsaab Alas from Hanagandi village.

The successful operation was conducted by ACF Rajeshwari Eeranatti, RFO Pawan Kuraninga, Hanmantha Dhoni, DYRFO Ashwini Manami along with Forest Officer R.B., led by DCFP Sridhar Meitri. SH Kulali and water inspector Sadashiva Manga were also part of the team involved in the operation.
